Product Information
AMiGO juice is a freeze-dried powder that is mixed with water to make juice. Freeze-drying ensures that the plant enzymes crucial for health remain intact. AMiGO Juice contains a concentrated dose of antioxidants from three essential ingredients known for their many health benefits:
Acai — a dark purple berry from the Amazon rain forest, picked daily and freeze-dried within 24 hours of harvest.
Mangosteen — a purple berry with white flesh from Thailand, harvested when seasonally ripe for maximum efficacy. The xanthone-rich pericarp (rind or peel) is separated from the pulp and seed. The pericarp undergoes a freeze-drying process.
Goji — a round, red berry that grows on extensive vines in the sheltered valleys of the Himalayas in Tibet. The berries are very tender and must be shaken from the vine rather than picked in order to avoid spoiling. The fruit is preserved by slowly drying in the shade.
These berries are "wild harvested" and grow in some of the most nutrient-rich soil on earth.
Other ingredients: evaporated organic cane juice powder, xanthum gum, guar gum, stevia, natural flavors.

ACAI
A dark purple berry from the Amazon rain forest. Acai berries contain very high amounts of essential fatty acids proven to lower LDL and HDL cholesterol levels. They are also a remarkable concentration of antioxidants to help combat premature aging. Acai berry, known simply as nature's perfect food, is one of the most nutritious and powerful foods available. Acai was recently featured on the Oprah TV show as being the top superfood for age-defying beauty. Acai berry is a dense source of a particular class of flavonoids called anthocyanins. The US Department of Agriculture has established values for the ability of a food to subdue oxygen free radicals which are damaging to the body, known as an Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity or ORAC value. The ORAC value of the acai berry is higher than any other edible berry in the world! Acai berry is also an excellent source of dietary fiber. Acai is extremely rich in organic vegetable protein which does not generate cholesterol during its digestion and is more easily processed and transported to your muscles than animal protein (such as in milk or meat).
MANGOSTEEN
A purple berry with white flesh from Thailand. The flesh is a favorite in Asia and is known for being one of the tastiest in the world. Mangosteen has compounds that have antioxidant, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, and anti-tumor activity. Laboratory tests have indicated that extracts of mangosteen have activity against several cancer cell lines including breast, liver, and leukemia. Mangosteen also contains antihistamine and anti-inflammatory properties. Mangosteen has been used for many years as a medicinal treatment for diarrhea, skin infections, and wounds in South Asia.
The latest scientific research shows mangosteen contains a class of naturally occurring polyphenolic compounds known as xanthones, compounds commonly found in plants that have been shown to have extensive beneficial biological and pharmacological activities. Xanthones provide beneficial effects on cardiovascular diseases, including ischemic heart disease, atherosclerosis, hypertension, and thrombosis. The mangosteen pericarp (rind or peel) contains a very high level of xanthones. Mangosteen shows properties that reduce tension in blood vessel walls, and has shown inhibitory action against tuberculosis (mycobacterium tuberculosis) and staph (staphylococcus aureus) bacteria. Mangosteen is highly effective in weak immune systems. Several compounds found in the mangosteen appear to make this fruit a very active nutritional component for the body.
GOJI
Also known as
Wolfberry, the common name for the fruit of lycium barbarum, a round red berry that grows on extensive vines in the sheltered valleys of the Himalayas in Tibet, and in Mongolia and China. The berry has been eaten locally in those regions for centuries and is celebrated in festivals. A deciduous woody perennial plant growing three to nine feet high, the fruit is nicknamed the "happy berry" because of the sense of well-being it is said to induce. The berries are very tender and must be shaken from the vine when ripe rather than picked in order to avoid spoiling. The fruit is preserved by slowly drying in the shade.
Traditional medicinal uses: antibacterial, cholesterol reducer, fever reducer, cancer treatment, diuretic, blood sugar balancer, ophthalmic, purgative, skin enhancer, tonic, blood vessel dilator.
A sweet tonic decoction made from the fruits is used to lower blood pressure and blood cholesterol levels. It acts mainly on the liver and kidneys. The fruit is taken internally in the treatment of high blood pressure, diabetes, poor eyesight, vertigo, lumbago, impotence, and menopausal complaints. The fruit is harvested when fully ripe and is dried for later use. The root bark is a bitter, cooling, antibacterial herb that controls coughs and lowers fevers, blood pressure, and blood cholesterol levels. It is taken internally for the treatment of chronic fevers, internal hemorrhages, nosebleeds, tuberculosis, coughs, asthma, etc. It is applied externally to treat genital itching. The bark is harvested in the winter and dried for later use. The plant has a long history of medicinal use, both as a general energy restoring tonic, and also to heal a wide range of ailments from skin rashes and eyesight problems to diabetes. A tonic tea is made from the leaves. The fruit of many members of this genus is a very rich source of vitamins and minerals, especially vitamins A, C, and E, and flavonoids and other bio-active compounds. It is also a fairly good source of essential fatty acids, which is fairly unusual for a fruit. It is being investigated as a food that is capable of reducing the incidence of cancer and also as a means of halting or reversing the growth of cancers. According to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, data from an observational study done in China in 1994 involving 75 cancer patients suggest that lycium barbarum polysaccharides may be beneficial when used with certain cancer treatments.
OTHER INGREDIENTS:
Evaporated organic cane juice powder, xanthum gum, guar gum, stevia, natural flavors.
Extended Resources
MANGOSTEEN
For hundreds of years, the people of Southeast Asia have used the mangosteen, especially the rind, to ward off and treat infections, reduce pain or control fever, and treat various other ailments.
Medicinal Uses
Dried fruits are shipped from Singapore to Calcutta and to China for medicinal use. The sliced and dried rind is powdered and administered to overcome dysentery. Made into an ointment, it is applied on eczema and other skin disorders. The rind decoction is taken to relieve diarrhea, cystitis, gonorrhea, and gleet and is applied externally as an astringent lotion. A portion of the rind is steeped in water overnight and the infusion given as a remedy for chronic diarrhea in adults and children. Filipinos employ a decoction of the leaves and bark as a febrifuge (fever reducer) and to treat thrush, diarrhea, dysentery and urinary disorders. In Malaya, an infusion of the leaves, combined with unripe banana and a little benzoin is applied to the wound of circumcision. A root decoction is taken to regulate menstruation. A bark extract called "amibiasine," has been marketed for the treatment of amoebic dysentery.
The rind of partially ripe fruits yields a polyhydroxy-xanthone derivative termed mangostin, also ss-mangostin. The rind of fully ripe fruits contains the xanthones, gartanin, 8-disoxygartanin, and normangostin.
MANGOSTEEN JUICE
It is the juice of the mangosteen that has catapulted it into the forefront of medical research and health awareness.
The reason for this is that the juice of the mangosteen contains an unusually high concentration of Xanthones. Xanthones are an exceptionally powerful antioxidant. As those who are interested in health and wellness already know, antioxidants are responsible for repairing damaged cells. Environmental factors, toxins, and even the foods we eat cause free radicals to assault cellular membranes every moment of our lives. It is up to antioxidants to repair that damage and that is why they are known as anti-aging compounds.
So, increasing the level of antioxidants in the body, especially these extraordinarily powerful antioxidants, is a great way to slow aging and fight against any number of diseases or deterioration in the body. Unfortunately, getting mangosteen juice in this country is next to impossible. And as it turns out, there is a better way to enjoy the benefits of mangosteen anyway. Bottled juices tend to be mostly water, contain unnecessary additives, and are inconvenient to carry around.
XANTHONES
In ancient times, the indigenous peoples of Southeast Asia used to grind the mangosteen fruit into a powder that was used to treat infections. In modern times, interest in the medicinal properties of rain-forest plants, like the mangosteen, have spurred new interest in this ancient plant. Today, modern researchers have pinpointed exactly what gives the mangosteen its healing powers.
The source of the mangosteen's medicinal properties is found in its peel, not the fleshy part of the fruit. The peel is where powerful antioxidants known as Xanthones are concentrated. Xanthones are some of the most amazing compounds in all of nature. They are able to heal damaged cells, slow aging, and ward off disease and deterioration.
Cells are damaged by free radicals. Free radicals and toxins come from the foods we eat, the environment, and are even made right in our own bodies. Free radicals are molecules missing an electron. They zoom about the body attempting to wrestle an electron from the other atoms and molecules they encounter. While this is an attempt to stabilize the free radical, the loss of an electron destabilizes the other atoms they encounter. This is how cells are damaged.
Xanthones, on the other hand, have an extra electron. By donating this electron, they effectively neutralize free radicals and restore balance to the body. This has the effect of slowing deterioration. The end result is slower aging, less susceptibility to infection and disease, and improved mental functioning. Xanthones truly are a marvel of nature and AMiGO uses them to full advantage.
ACAI
The acai (Ah-sa-ee) berry or fruit grows on majestic palm trees in the Amazon rain-forest and looks like a purple marble or grape. Acai has a delicious tropical berry flavor and provides exceptional nutrition. Acai contains high levels of antioxidants, omega fatty acids (healthy fats), iron, amino acids, fiber, and many other vitamins and minerals. The people of the Amazon region in Northern Brazil have consumed acai for hundreds of years and its healing and sustaining powers are legendary. Acai is antioxidant, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antimutagenic (mutation reducing), and a cardiovascular strengthener.
Besides its outstanding content of protein and unsaturated lipids, acai is also rich in carbohydrates which provide the body with necessary energy while working or practicing any kind of sport or physical activity.
According to medical research studies conducted on the acai berries, analysis reveals:
An amazingly high concentration of antioxidants contributing to combating premature aging. The proanthocyanidine contents in acai berries are 10 to 30 times the anthocyanins (the purple colored antioxidants) of red wine per volume. Although the French have a high fat diet, they have a low incidence of cardiovascular disease compared to western countries. They contribute this factor to their consumption of red wine. Acai berries can help promote a healthier cardiovascular system and digestive tract, because of its synergy of monounsaturated (healthily) fats, dietary fiber, and phytosterols. Acai is an excellent source of fiber, which promotes a healthy digestive system. Research studies suggests soluble fibers may help lower blood cholesterol. The insoluble fiber may help to reduce the risk of developing certain types of cancers. Essential amino acid complex along with trace minerals, which are vital for proper muscle contraction and regeneration. Aside from the energy and fluid replacement, acai berries provide a nutrition profile complete with vitamins, minerals and essential fatty acids (omega 6 and 9). The fatty acid ratio in acai resembles that of olive oil. Studies suggest this is a contributing factor to the low incidence of heart disease in Mediterranean populations. Acai berries contain plant sterols including beta-sitosterol. Today, sterols are being used to treat associated benign prostate dyperplasia. These plant sterols have also been shown to help control cholesterol as well as act as precursors to many important substances produced by the body.
Omega Fatty Acids (Omega 9, Omega 6, and Omega 3)
These monosaturated essential fatty acids help lower LDL (harmful cholesterol) while maintaining HDL (beneficial cholesterol). This unique ratio resembles the same combination as olive oil. Omega fatty acids combat heart disease by increasing healthy cell development. Omega fatty acids are essential for healthy nervous system development and regeneration. They help rapidly repair and rejuvenate muscles after intense exercise.
Amino Acids
The Acai berry contains an almost perfect essential amino acid complex. This is vital for proper muscle contraction and regeneration, and for endurance, strength, sustained energy, and muscle development. Acai contains natural vitamin E to protect against aging.
Theobromine
Acts as a bronchial dilator to help open air passage ways in the lungs. This increased air capacity helps in oxygen intake, which increases endurance, strength, and athletic performance.
Photosterols
These complex compounds of plant cell membranes are used to treat symptoms associated with benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH). Photosterols also help promote a healthy cardiovascular system and contributes to a healthy digestive tract.
Anit-Oxidants
Acai is rich in antocyanins, an essential anti-oxidizer that helps combat premature aging. In fact, acai has ten to 30 times more anthocyanins (purple colored anti-oxidants) than a glass of red wine. With 10 times the antioxidants of grapes and twice the antioxidants of blueberries, the Brazilian acai berry is considered to have the best nutritional value of any fruit on earth.
Acai Juice Benefits:
- Greater energy/stamina
- Improved digestion
- Improved Mental Focus
- Better sleep
- Improved sexual function
- High fiber content
- Very low in sugars
- Cleansing and Detoxifying
- Boosts Immune System

Just one gram of acai, can provide an ORAC value of 3871. An average person needs 1670 ORAC per day.
GOJI
The Goji berry is a small red berry with a sweet tangy taste. The most potent and valuable type is grown in the Himalayan Mountains, but different growing regions produce different potencies, so having a standardized variety is important to ensure consistent quality and results. The Tibetan goji is a very unique fruit that possesses a very wide range of nutrients, and is used to treat a wide range of conditions.

Goji Juice
Many of the legendary health-giving properties of lycium barbarum (goji's botanical name) are today being confirmed in modern scientific studies, and this has led to the possibility of even more far-reaching health benefits.
A polysaccharide-protein complex from lycium barbarum upregulates cytokine expression in human peripheral blood mononuclear cells.
Goji is the ancient colloquial name given only to this Tibetan variety of lycium berry by the indigenous Tibetan and Mongolian people of the region. Local wildcrafters are careful to distinguish the goji berry from its distantly related offspring, the Chinese wolfberry (Lycium barbarum), pointing out that whilst the later evolved (over centuries) from the Goji berry, its genetic makeup differs considerably, as do the regions within which these two different berries are growing.
